Forum/Web-base/Email list integration

A basic use case scenario

1. User emails pcgen_developers@pcgen.org with Subject "New UI", it pops up in the developers forum as a post by that user.
2. Another user replies to that post via the forum interface and an email gets send out to the pcgen_developers@pcgen.org mailing list (with the same "New UI" Subject).
3. A third user might reply to the first reply via the pcgen_developers@pcgen.org and that reply neatly pops up in the forum. The software would cleverly match Subjects if a User's email client adds the "RE:" prefix to the Subject.

Discussions that need to be addressed

• New Webhost Provider
  • WHY?
    • Webspace is a necessity that must be addressed currently we have 500mb allocated
    • (It should be noted that the Webteam would like an 'alternate' testing capability before migrating to the 'production' side. This was possible with the old wiki [located at pcgen-test.org/wiki]
• Features for future capabilities

• Java support aka Tomcat

• • Support such items like JIRA (SF Tracker system)
  • Pet projects mentioned
  • (Tom would like to participate in this discussion, also need James and Tir in it)

• • Limitations - As a volunteer group, money is always a concern and the organization relies heavily on donations and free man hours
    • Webhost should offer a vast array of features, at a reasonable price. The lower the cost the better. Shooting from $5/mo to $20/mo

Mailhandler

The Mailhandler module allows registered users to create or edit nodes and comments via email.

Listhandler

Listhandler is a module that aims at inserting mailing list discussions in Drupal forum and vice versa. Currently there's no release for Drupal 6.x

Mailman Manager

This module provides an interface through which users can subscribe to mailing lists run by Mailman.

Book

Module that can be used to write online books. Could be useful for the Documentation team. See Dojo Ajax Toolkit for an example.

PdfView

Allows Drupal Nodes to be exported to PDF. Might be useful for the documentation

Ohloh

Integrates Ohloh stats into Drupal user profiles.
