Diff programs
A "Diff" program is a file (and sometimes directory) comparison tool. The best ones have a visual component for easy identificaton of differences between lines of text or files in a directory and a method of navigating from difference to difference quickly.
This type of program is an invaluable tool for the more senior PCGen data monkey who might be checking the work of other data monkeys. You can see at a glance what has been changed, added or removed.
Some of the available choices:
- WINDOWS SYSTEM
- WinMerge (freeware)
- ExamDiff (freeware)
- Visual Comparer (shareware - 30 days)
- LINUX SYSTEM
- Meld (freeware)
